Hurricane Irene didn't bring nearly the intensity we expected. Heavy rain for several hours but the ground soaked it up quickly. I'm not sure the winds ever broke 50mph gusts and I would be surprised if sustained was above 40mph. Still, it decorated our yard with sticks and leaves, mostly from the oak tree. At 4:30 we headed outside to let the kids work out the kinks and to clean up a little.
Eric is doing fairly well with using the big potty. We're in the realm of reminding him to go periodically and him recognizing that he needs to go occasionally. Over the last week he HAS run to the bathroom and gone potty all by himself a couple times so yay. He's still not pooping in the potty consistently -- it's an occasional thing with most of the time him going in his pullups at naptime or bedtime.
Kyle has added a few new words recently -- dirty, mine, and yummy. We're starting to reinforce the More sign because he hasn't picked up that word yet. He's been working on identification and can point to many more types of things in books, and find little things like bugs and birds quite consistently. He shows a tiny bit of recognition of numbers, matching, prepositions, colors, and shapes. These will come over the next 6 months or so.
