Bits and Bites

Sorry for the out-of-order, mixed-up pics in the recent upload to flickr.

Eric has recently gone through a phase of being very focused on last names. We told him that his last name, and ours, was Buhtz, so he went around and made sure he knew everyone's names. I am Eric Buhtz, Daddy is Greg Buhtz, Mommy is Marie Buhtz, Kyle is Kyle Buhtz, Grandma is Grandma Buhtz, Grandpa is Grandpa Buhtz, Thomas is Thomas Buhtz (yes, Thomas the Tank Engine is apparently part of our family). We had to clarify that Pa is Pa Cogswell and Nani is Nani Cogswell, which he repeated a few times to make sure he got it. For a week or so he made sure we knew he was Eric Buhtz and Kyle was Kyle Buhtz. He appears to have tabled that for a little while, but it was an interesting interlude.

Kyle isn't crying as much these days, and burping quite well (usually). When he cries it's usually because he's hungry or tired. Less often it's because he needs his diaper changed, is dealing with gas (top or bottom), or is angry that he's not being held. Usually, though, if he's crying it's because he's tired and can't settle himself. We're working on that.

I'm taking various seminars on job search concepts such as resume, marketing document, networking, linked in, researching companies, etc, and have applied to a few jobs though I haven't been searching for jobs yet.

The other large wall in the bathroom is painted. Now I need to start doing the joins, which is going to be ... interesting. We're thinking of replacing the sink with a smaller one so Eric can wash his hands easier, though putting a step stool in there has helped. The smaller sink might be temporary if we put it in. We're still working on finding/making a stool that Eric can reach with his heels when he's sitting on the toilet.

We plan to potty train on the July 4th weekend, if Eric's still interested.
