We picked up a GPS unit for our car last Wednesday and of course Eric asked what it was. We told him a "GPS" and he repeated this a few times. A couple days later when we turned it on, he asked "FC?" which I didn't connect to anything. However, Greg realized Eric was asking about the GPS unit again and Eric was happy when Greg corrected him with "GPS" -- Eric again repeated this several times in a very satisfied voice. What interests me is that Eric apparently didn't hear "GPS" as "jeepias", ie a word, but rather as three letters, and when he tried to recall the unusual name, he remembered letters (made more obvious because he remembered the wrong ones).
