Well, tonight has been a bit eventful. Someone side-swiped Greg on the way home from work. Eric and he are completely fine (Greg's reflexes and the slow speed of the other driver made the impact not very ... impactful) but the saturn (little commuter car) is totaled (front axle snapped). Other driver got a ticket, car was towed to where the insurance company will look at it. Eric got to see police (very helpful) and a tow truck, yay. We are all at home now working off some adrenaline and hoping for a quiet evening.

As to the car, after the insurance is settled or at least preliminarily complete, we'll go to our favorite used car dealer and get another $2000 commuter saturn (which is why our emergency fund is $2500). Until then, Greg and I will commute together, since my office is right on the way to his. Praise goes to God for giving us the emergency fund and making sure nothing but the car was hurt (and that the other guy was clearly at fault *grump*).
