New words for today/recently: mustard (muhsahd), ketchup (tesip), nuts (I've started him on cashews because they're easier to chew, honey sesame cashews in this case -- 'more nuts' has been a frequent request this evening), chalk (dahk), outside (ah-dide), ladder (-adder) coupled with 'step' (dep), pillow (dee-oh), hammer, nail, dragonfly (dadi-wy) (he's right now on my lap watching the Wrath login screen and insists that the dragon is a dragonfly. It's a dragon and it flies, so I guess that works).
He's working on more complex sentences, often 3-4 or more words. Sometimes we know exactly what he's saying, and sometimes it's more obtuse.
He appears to have given up fits during pickup, and has reduced his hitting substantially.
Yesterday he got his first haircut, since he was starting to look like Einstein-baby on a bad-hair day. Greg needed to cut his own hair, so we all went into the bathroom and watched daddy cut his hair with the clippers. Then we put Eric in the tub (stripped down to his diaper), put the longest attachment on the clippers (12mm) and cut Eric's hair. He investigated a little bit but was generally content to play with his bath toys. No drama at all, which was very nice (also cheap and the cut looks fine, both wins).
He has gotten the seahorse Jewel and Dennis sent (dee-ose) and knows how to use it as a puppet. He has also opened the most recent musical card Betti and Denis sent, which he repeatedly opened and closed, not letting Sachmo get past the first line of his song.
