Shorthand to catch up:

Went to lunch with Tom who had gone to RIM. Checked site, found job, talked to him, applied, got HR phone screen, passed as 8th and final candidate. 2 wks later 1st technical phone screen with two QA leads.  2+ weeks later phone interview with QA manager.  2+ wks later got sick just before scheduled phone interview with skip manager, rescheduled and managed to get a video interview on site.  1 wk later heard offer in works, started 2+ weeks later, reporting to manager I interviewed with.  Work is good, people are great, phones are interesting, love the UI. Still in training which is alternately boring and brain-frying.  Will get to do real work soon though.

Weekdays are compacted -- up at 6am and (in an ideal world) getting kids up 6:20ish. Kids lately have been getting up 5:30ish.  Groan.  Into cars by 7:15, Greg to daycare and work, me to gym. Leave gym no later than 8am to arrive work 8:30. Work til 5-5:15ish, same time Greg leaves Grace's. Arrive home before Greg (he gets home 6ish) so I can prep dinner (which has ideally been mostly prepped previous night). Feed kids, play a little and/or Greg do work / Marie clean up after dinner. Feed Kyle 7:15 bottle, Eric brush teeth 7:25. Kids to bed 7:30p, clean kitchen, prep next morning, done (ideally) 8:15.  Parents take deep breath, say hi to each other. Other misc chores and/or fun until start fading 9pm. Sleep.  Weekends are easier but packed with chores that can't be gotten to on weekdays, like grocery shopping.

Kyle has been getting up 2am, then every 45-90 mins after that.  Makes nights and following days rather tough.  Will try to wean him of night wakings over Thanksgiving holiday. Also try potty training again over Thanksgiving.

Eric is playing well with Kyle, and alternately vehemently defending his (and some of Kyle's) toys from Kyle's attentions. Eric likes to stack blocks and call Kyle over to knock them down.  Kyle loves playing with Eric, which means near him and/or pawing at whatever Eric is playing with.  Kyle is pulling up on things, much better than he can dismount from them. Many kabooms and bonks and cries ensue.

When I have 30 mins of "my own" in the evenings, and it takes me 20 mins to jot down thoughts of this length, you can see why the blog and flickr haven't been seeing regular updates.  I'll get to them, but it's that or relaxation/fun.  Fun usually wins. Obligations aren't fun.
